Mid-level SQL Server Database Administrator
Beverly Hills, CA
Seeking qualified individual for a Mid-level DBA position as an addition to our existing Database Administration team. The role will encompass the hands-on support of terabyte class databases, including, but not limited to, monitoring, re-indexing, general database maintenance, extract-transformation-load, backup/recovery, documentation, and configuration.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor system resources and operations in order to ensure efficient and effective daily operations and to make recommendations for more efficient and effective methods of providing technical services
- Maintain multiple instances of SQL Server 2000 and 2005
- Administration of Existing Databases
- Adhere to and apply SQL Server management processes and procedures
- Create and maintain maintenance routines for databases
- Perform maintenance on database servers
- Work in a team environment by collaborating with others and sharing tools, skills, and knowledge
- Participate in appropriate change planning meetings and prepare necessary documentation for appropriate change authorizations.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years IT experience
- 2+ years of MSSQL system administration and analysis
- MS SQL Server Enterprise 2000 or 2005 Database experience
- Basic hands-on knowledge of SQL, TSQL, Triggers, Cursors, & Stored Procedures
- Hands on knowledge of performing simple queries via Query Analyzer
- Strong understanding of database concepts
- Knowledge of DTS\SSIS and experience in automating tasks with DTS or SSIS
- Knowledge of server maintenance (logins, connections, process monitoring, capacity)
- Strong problem-solving and logical analysis skills, as well as strong technical background
- Must be a self-starter capable of working independently
- Ability to perform tasks in a constantly changing environment
- Must be flexible and available to provide off-hours support
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
